About 20 years ago I went to visit some friends at their new apartment. The place was this gorgeous house on Grymes Hill; an apartment with a foyer in paned glass and a loft within. The kitchen and bathroom were downstairs, upstairs a bedroom with French doors and a small area where the husband recorded his music. Above was the attic. To cut a long story short, I had an extremely unsettling feeling as soon as I entered the house. It was as though evil was surrounding me. I didn't mention anything. I also didn't know the history of the house. I went to use the bathroom and that is where the feeling grew stronger. I felt as though I was being watched and as though whatever was there, wanted me to leave. My host asked me what was wrong and I told her reluctantly (after all, this was their first place together and I didn't want to be negative. She said to wait right there. She came back with the Staten Island Advance and showed me an article about that very house and the apartment they just moved into. The article mentioned that there was a sick woman that lived there with her husband and he was having an affair with the nurse that took care of her. The wife died and the husband lived there with the nurse. It went on to say how people that had rented that apartment wound up leaving because of the very forboding presence and the things it would do. I couldn't believe it. I am very sensitive to spirits, I suppose because this sort of thing has happened to me before. My question is...does anyone know of this house? I can't remember the street it was on. I believe it may have been white and the entrance was on the left side, a glass foyer. It was also on the left side of the street. I am also wondering if anyone remembers reading that article. My friends did not stay there for long. They said that things got worse...extremely loud noises in the attic that sounded like someone hurling heavy objects, the French doors to the bedroom opened and slammed causing it to shatter and there were voices in the husband's headphones once while he was recording a song...ladies speaking and the sound of teacups or china clicking. Anyone out there know of this place? Or if anyone living there now has a story to tell? Thanks!
