I grew up on Chestnut Ave in Rosebank. The house I was born in and my parents still own is a few houses up from The Garibaldi Museum. I recall stories(true) when I was younger that the house was initially up Fox Hills and was used as a prison during the War. The house was later relocated about 200 feet when it still stands now.(This was a common practice many years ago).I think the house has some haunted history and my sister and I are always talking about doing something there to see if there are really spirits.

We'd love to check it out! The GMM was relocated from it's original site also.
PS. I actually worked at PS13 in Rosebank for a few years.

Sorry it took time to respond. I was away and when I got back there was so much SPAM to get rid of, that I didn't even look through the posts.

What is the history of Rosebank? My family moved into a house on home ave about 12 years ago. I've moved out years ago but the experiences I had chill me still to this day. Footsteps, black masses, voices, mimicking, doors opening and closing. You name it, it happened. Made my life a living hell. Ive lived and grew up in brooklyn my whole life, so i am ignorant to the history of the neighborhood. I wonder if the activity is tied to its history.

Reading the comments in regard to Chestnut Ave are interesting..I was born on Chestnut, lived there a few years..in saying that... years later I remember my Mom telling her friends stories about what happened in the their apt on Chestnut..of course being scared at the time..overhearing, I never asked her anything about the subject...reading this brought back that memory...what she told her friends.... in the kitchen of the apt ( and I do not remember the address on Chestnut)....she was cooking, when as she turned to get a condiment from the pantry..standing next to it, was a foggy vision of a woman my mon said she thought she was seeing things, but looked again, and the woman, dressed in a long skirt, her hair pulled up in a bun, had piercing eyes..and just faded away as quickly as she appeared..telling her friends she never told my father..or no one else fearing they would think she was loosing her mind, and back then..that would have been the thought....she then saw the figure several times after that, but what really scared her. the figure was always seen by my room..as if the woman was watching me...I should have asked my Mom ( before she passed) cause now I am very interested..anyway I don't know if this would be the same house on Chestnut....
