Greetings,
It is my hope this finds you all well. Recently my wife Jessica and I were researching local ghost hunting groups in our area, and also looking within the TAPS community, for us to get involved in. We have sent an email to Dan at SIGH, but noticed that on the SIGH site, unless that has changed, they are not accepting individual members, a lil disappointing. We would like to learn more of the ghost hunting field, train with those who know more of the gear aspect, and perhaps suggest investigations in our area.
We live in Tottenville and as some may know roughly translates from the Dutch for town of the dead. The town also was named from the Dutch Totten family that settled here, but as its built upon native land, and burial grounds there is abundant activity. We both feel we are "sensitive" to the energies here but would like to document them with those who have investigating gear. We could take folks on a tour of "active" areas, especially the Conference House grounds where Burial Ridge is, the oldest burial ground on the east coast.
A lil about us, my wife is a teacher and scholar, I am an Independent Scholar and Park Ranger. We run a local literary society and love researching ancient and modern histories of Staten Island and NYC areas. I have quite a bit of information of the area and we would love to volunteer in thar department as well as learn from the group.
