I live on Arthur Kill Road not too far from the parsonage. Anyway, a few years back I saw a ghost in my room. A female floating in my doorway, long brown tangled hair in a white gown, she didn't seem harmful in anyway and eventually I fell asleep and I never saw her again. Last night, around 11:00 I was watching tv in my room and on the tv screen interference came through near the bottom left of the screen, the program I was watching did not go to a commercial and the tv didn't flicker on/off. The interference was black/grey and the part that made me run out of my room was the message that came up on the screen "can you read this, if so I am still alive please help" I never ran out of my room so fast and I couldn't fall back to sleep....anyway I have two cats one of which slept close to me all night, the other sat in the doorway and stared at me, then ran across the room, but wouldn't come on the bed like she normally does.....I don't know what to make of this....

First of all I would like to say that Richmondtown is haunted - no question. I live here, moved from Great Kills 3 yrs ago and in the beginning it was pretty scary, now it doesn't happen as often, apparently the house we live in was empty for a lil' bit. I'm guessing the ghosts /spirits got pretty comfortable and tried to screw with us when we first moved in. Strange things always happening. Before we even moved in I was painting the kitchen and kept feeling someone tapping on my shoulder, of course no one was actually there....and then the toilet would flush on it's own and shelves would fall off of the bedroom wall, out of the blue. Also whistling .. I would hear once in a while. But when ever my fiancee would do something wrong or get loud with me, things would fall .. he lit a cigarette once standing by the fridge and was yelling at my for something stupid and suddenly I see a religious candle we have fall off of the fridge a literally knock the lit cigarette out if his mouth .... it was the BEST !!! LOL We live in the town houses built in the 80's so I'm guessing because the ground these were built on - nothing to do with the actually house I'm sure.. The revolutionary war - fought on these grounds... soldiers all around.. I'm sure of it .. Ooh and the chairs.. the chairs would always be moved out from under the table come morning, as if we had a party in the kitchen...lol

OMG I just read the girl - Melisa's posting - This happens quite often with my TV and freaks me out.. ...I haven't had that message go across the screen but I have had the TV go to static for no reason and just go on .. and past few nights or even mornings I have had interference in my clock radio and it's not even on...... like one night it was making strange humming noises and woke me up it got so loud.. it happened again this morning.. Weird things - my dog is always looking around crying and things I do not see. Sometimes she jumps out of bed an druns in the living room where I am with her little heart pumping out of her chest and she hides under the blanket with me.,.. I have to stop thinking about it because I'm going to freak if something else happens again tonight......

I went there when I was 9 and I got that 'feeling', if you know what I mean. I also noticed one of the rocking chairs was moving, but the worker said it was because the heat was on... Meanwhile, we went in April.. So why would the heat be on? LOL

Haha. Yes, just like staff to try to say a place is "not haunted"!

I am looking for ghost stories about Richmondtown. If you have any, please share. We had a meeting with them this past week and will probably be conducting our investigation in April. when i was in the 7th grade i heard my teacher told me that she took a picture there and in the backround inside the window there was a leprechaun..i asked my mom and she said that during the war a little boy was killed and he haunts that place

When I was little my family lived in the Britton Cottage, before it was moved to Richmond town it was in New Dorp beach across from Miller Field. i remember the plane crash 12/1960. But my mother had a number of "things" happen to her. To this day she swears she was pushed down the stairs one time when no one else was home! Her and my father were watching tv and saw an image of a man in revolutionary uniform walk across the room.

Hi, a couple of years ago I took a 2-speed micro cassette recorder walked around the St. Andrew cemetery. If you record spirit voices on the higher speed, when they register as EM blips, you slow them down and you hear spirit voices. I had some success there. One spirit, "Pinney," did not want to be left out and so called out his name until I read his headstone. I was also invited to go through At. Andrew's catacomb once, under the church. Not too long ago they found 4 more buried British soldiers down there. What that produced was a faint wooshing sound and what sounded like a distant clanging bell. That's all 4 now, but there have also been Bigfoot sightings there.

Thanks Timeghost. We'd love to hear your EVPs if you have them uploaded somewhere. Yeah- I posted the thread on the bigfoot sightings somewhere on here. Interesting. Bigfoot on SI. Amy

I had an experience at Richmond Town. My uncle and I were walking through Richmond Town about 10-11 at night. We walked by the old school and I asked my uncle if we should go up the steps, we ended not going up the steps. Anyways, I had a Digital Video Recorder with me and when I asked my uncle that question, you could hear on the Recorder that right after I said "should we go up the steps" a voice was heard on the Recorder and it said "don't go up there". I wish I would have heard that at the time I asked the question because then I would have definitely went up the steps.
Has anyone ever had any experiences by that old school in Richmond Town.

i have to say that i have never ever experienced anything or seen or felt anything paranormal, so it is very hard for me to believe it exists. i watch these ghost hunter shows on tv and EVERYTHING can be explained on it. i tried to do my own ghost hunting once at richmond town and i was disappointed that i didnt see anything. i always pass thru richmond town on arthur kill rd going to snake hill and i always look around to see if i see anything but i never do. but i do have to say a few days ago i was driving up snake hill around 3am, and i just for some reason got real creeped out like it felt something was around. right as i passed the golf course the feeling went away. but it could of just been me scaring my self. i tend to do that if i watch a horror movie, i wont be scared during it, its after the movies over. call me a whimp, but i become afraid of the dark for a while after lol i just run horror stuff thru my head when in the dark and just think scary stuff and scare the nuts outta my self lol
