Yeah? That sounds odd. I do my best to respond to everyone, so not sure how that happened. Email me again if you have anything else to show me. You can always message me here, too.

Mike,
I just went and checked, and I did speak with you via email before the tour, and again at the tour, however, I did not find any emails from you after our discussion about keeping in touch. Seeing that you started your own group, I am guessing that you aren't interested in joining our group anymore, as you stated in your emails.

well, i lived on si my entire life, which now i am a grandmother. my parents before me are also si natives. tottenville natives. my father as well as his mother had amazing psychic ability. many years ago my older brother was a caretaker at the confrence house. there are many note worthy historical points, not all hauntings. i knew the families of all the girls you mentioned. i do not think they would appreciate there mentioning. there are many "haunted" sites on si. one such is in the rossiville area. seen by many. it is a shame that there are building on that site. i wonder what will happen in those new homes? there is a home by a church, older not very old, every new tenent, never stay long. i do not mention there exact addresses for the sake of there privacy, and i am not seeking fame. my father participated in many seances. very interesting stories. some right in the homes inthe heart of tottenville. in peoples homes you would least expect. as far as the confrence house, some quiet little things inside. by truely, since i was a child, those woods have been haunted. once, we were playing on the grass, around dusk and we (a few of us) heard horses, and seemed liked soldiers, which seemed like a slow run, coming across the grass. we scrambled to get out of they way, we turned, and they were gone. no one ever believed us, i am not sure anymore if it was real or not. but i will never forget it. i have been in newer homes in annadale, definately haunted. things came off the shelf. my close friends know of my families 'gift'. but i do not like to be bothered by it. it can be a burden. people would probably think i was a crazy old lady. well i am not to good with computers, my grandchild is helping, who, by the way, seems more gifted then the rest of us. but i look forward to reading more. thank you

Hi. I have a few stories to share. When I was little, maybe 7 or 8 my mothers friend was my babysitter and she watched me at her house. She had a wooden sthingy and fork, about 2 feet long that hung on her kitchen wall. every day when we would sit down at the kitchen table the sthingy would start to swing from side to side. these were quite heavy so it was not wind and it was only the sthingy. My mother had old me that her friend had a priest come to bless the house and he was violently attacked in he attic. I had never had a feeling that it was a malevolent spirit. When I was a teenager in the 80's a few friends and I had gone to the old colony houses on Brielle and the feeling there was that we were not wanted there. Something actually chased us out of there (no, it was not Bigfoot). On Clay Pit Road there was a house that had caught on fire. There was a tree in the backyard that a piece of the house had fallen into nad it was in he shape of a cross. As I had rounded the corner of the house, before I had even seen the tree, I had gotten such a terrifying feeling. As soon as I saw that tree I ran back to the car and locked myself in. In the woods by the Conference House, a friend and I had parked down there on a foggy night down near the water. We were sitting on the hood of the car, and we started to hear the sound of drums and what sounded like chanting. We then saw torches coming toward us through the woods. We then got into the car and it wouldn't start. We were scared. We had thought it was Satanists, but I had seen stories from other people having the same experience.I guess that one possibly is not paranormal. I now live in Brooklyn and I have a little girl that visits my apartment and the apartment next door. My neighbors daughter has seen her and she was afraid of her. My own daughter has seen her and spoken to her, I have only heard her. I also saw a shadow figure ran down my hallway. That frightened me enough to rearrange my living room so my couch no longer faces that way. Sorry to ramble on, but i good o have somewhere to tell these stories because most people don't believe. Thanks for listening.

THE HAUNTED HOUSE ON LOUIS STREET this is a true story!anyone ever hear of the haunted house on louis street?was supposedly featured on eyewitness news back in the early 70's!was claimed to be the most haunted house in america!the story goes something like this...(i am making up dates and names because i dont know the actual date or the hotel and room #)a newlywed couple bought the house and lived in it for some time.then one day the husband goes into manhattan and checks himself into the waldorf?hotel,room123?on nov.1st?and hangs himself.the house remained vacant for a while then another couple bought it,moved in ,and on the exact same date, the husband went into manhattan ,checked himself into the same hotel ,same room and hung himself!again the house remained vacant for a while.then the house was bought by a couple with a daughter.on the exact same date as the previous suicides the husband hung himself in the house and was discovered by the daughter.her name was julie and she became well known to residents in the silver lake, tompkinsville area.we all knew her as ...julie boolie!!!she was a very strange girl and it was said she lost her mind when she saw her father hanging.well when i was about 7or8 years old we had a snow day from school.i went to our lady of good council right around the block from julie's house.being off from school that day i decided to go sleigh riding and went to hero park.being so young silver lake was too much for me i guess.well while i was sleighing a girl(julie boolie)befriended me and we spent a good part of the morning sleighriding together.there used to be an underground room in the woods off of hero park with a trapdoor in it.i think that hippies used to use it as a place to get high or whatever.we kids used to think it was cool to have a secret room in the woods.well, julie kept asking me to go to the room with her to explore but i wanted to keep sleighriding.after a few hours another boy our age showed up and the three of us had fun for a while sledding.well after several hours i was getting cold and hungry so i said i was going to go home and julie asked the other boy if he wanted to go into the woods with him.he said yes.i never knew this but after i left they went into the woods to the underground room and supposedly julie tied this boy to a tree and carved him up with a broken bottle!!!they say she was insane (we all were told she was possesed by the evil that was in her house)and was sent to an insane asylum!fast forward about 10 years and julie was a fixture in the area again.she used to carry a radio and would listen to the bay city rollers all the time.she would wear jeans with the legs near the bottom with plaid on them like the bay city rollers!everyone allways said she was nuts.the last time i ever saw julie boolie was when john lennon was shot ,she was on the news in front of the dakota with all the fans and her little radio playing john lennon music!...does anyone know this story or has this house ever been known?anyone who grew up in the area of victory blvd and good counsel knew about the house and julie but i cant find any other info on it!can anyone who knows more please tell me.it's been nagging me for years.i was allmost julie boolies victim!!!THE HAUNTED HOUSE ON LOUIS STREET!!!!!!

Hey Capt, Nice to meet you. That was a good story. I remember a story about a haunted house over that way. It was on T.V. There was a lady in a trance trying to get some info on the spirits that were believed to be in the house. I think it was a little before 1970 pretty sure!

Hello Capt.
I was reading your post. I would try to go to the building dept. and check to see when the house was built and also its owners through the years.
You could then check out the owners and see if anything transpired while they were living there. Big job!!!!!!!! But, you know you want to do it (LOL)

For some unknown reason, I was thinking of the girl mentioned above today. Maybe something triggered it on tv, who knows. I knew her only from my Spanish class many years ago. She was a nice and very smart girl. From what it said above, it sounds like today is her anniversary. That is odd.
