Hello everyone,
I apologize if this not in the correct section of the forum. If not then I would appreciate it if the moderators can put it where it rightfully belongs.
Allow me to please introduce myself. My name is Kevin and I am new here at Staten Island Paranormal Society. I am a screenwriter currently doing research for a supernatural horror film I want to write. However unlike Hollywood's usual portrayal of ghosts, I want the ghosts in my story to actually act like ghosts. Today's horror films whether they deal with the subject of ghosts are not rely heavily on blood and gore, cheap tricks and sex. My goal is to hopefully rely on a good story and be true to the paranormal.
However it seems that my research has went beyond and aside from writing a screenplay I am very interested in the paranormal investigation field.
I have done a good amount of research on hauntings, but I am nowhere near an excerpt and my thirst for knowledge of the paranormal still grows. To get a more of an understanding of how ghosts are I would like to go on several ghost hunts. Ideally I was hoping if someone can kindly recommend me some good places in Staten Island that are authentically haunted and what are the producers of contacting someone to do a paranormal investigation ? I apologize for sounding naive but I would love to be able to talk and communicate with a spirit.
I also would like to know how one can contact paranormal investigators or perhaps even a medium who would be interested in coming with me ? I know a lot of investigators rather go on their own (since they have their own team) and a lot of mediums require money for their services. On my investigations I am taking two people with me but would like to bring a professional.
Although reside in Brooklyn, I have no problem coming to Staten Island. My grandparents use to live in Holiday Villa so I would see them all the time and they along with my uncle are buried at Moravian Cemetery. The only few places that I know that are supposedly haunted are The Old Brier House, Old Bermuda Inn and Willowbrook State School. I never been to these places (I plan on going) but I heard stories. But I am hoping to hear of more places and to know if there is truth to these stories.
I was also hoping to talk to some people on here if they are interested in sharing their ghost encounters. I won't post my e-mail because I don't know if we are allowed to but please feel free to send me a message on here. Hopefully I will be able to find out how one can read and write messages on here.
I apologize for the long post. But I hope to meet everyone on here and if there is ever a meeting or a ghost hunt I surely would love to come. I also wanted to ask if anyone outside of Staten Island has ventured in going to The Country Tavern located in New Hampshire and have encountered the ghost of Elizabeth Ford ?
