I wouldnt try the Rossville Shipyard simply for safety reasons. A lil story, my family lived on Kunath ave and the shipyard was a 10 min walk away. My brother and I snuck away for a lil bit and went there where while climbing aboard a ship my foot fell through a very rusty deck. It has to be worse by now since that experience is over 20 yrs old.
Has anyone investigated the cemetary that sits there? I think its called Blue Star, its right across from the mechanic shop on the other side of Arthur Kill.

Hello. On Miller Field, I dont believe it is any more haunted than any other place, but it is a strange place for other rerasons. I dont have time to post everything, but I will later. I'll just say that the govt is protective of the area because there is a buinker under the last hangar. there originally were other hangars too. and so there exists soemwhere a secret passage in the hangar to the nbunkerr. i doubt much goes on theree, i think it is for the continuity of local govt in an emergency. after 9-11 they kept bodies there w/ fdry ice. i once saw a shaft excavated that webnt tdown into the ground next to the hangar wall. rockland industries has been there too, they specializ e in underground govt installations. they even move dirt around there under cover of night, using spiotlights. the snow always meklts in a certain area on the grass. the governors helicopter landed there in like 2000, w/ the state seal on the side. new phone & water lines went in after 9-11. etc., etc. new dorp beach is very haunted. i laugh becaus ethe cops are like "we heard voices." no $#@! sherlock. ha-ha. i saw a ghost there in 2006. And the Farm Colony across from Seaview I bet is haunted. a girl emailed me and said her friend got chased ouit of there at night by a Bigfoot there. the ship graveyard in the KillVan Kull is kind of tough to get too. but i donned a vest and used a boogie board to paddle out there. i explored the big tug, not much left on board.

Yeah. I could definitely see that about Miller Field.
New Dorp Beach- I'm going to agree with you. We did a bunch of cases there over the last year. Just got two emails this week, in fact. Where'd you see a ghost there?
Farm Colony- the Parks Dept even says it's haunted. A bigfoot, though? Neighbors, maybe.
I wouldn't venture to the ship yard. Too dangerous. Sounds like you had an adventure though!

Your story about Miller Field was really interesting! I knew about the other hangers. I know at one time the Green Berets were training there for about 12-18 months and they also had this Mafia guy there in some sort of protection program. I would see one, sometimes two officers walking with him so He would get exercise and air. They did this a few times a day until, I believe the man died . I never heard or saw anything that would lead me to believe that it is haunted there. Many years ago, I saw a male figure sitting in the window of the church down in New Dorp Beach. There were a few people with me who saw it too. You just knew he wasn't supposed to be there. He kept watchying us out the window. It was wierd

I wonder what goes on in that church. Someone on an investigation once mentioned feeling out of place in that church. Hmm.

Believe it or not, that place is linked to Garibaldi and Meucci. I have a pic of it from their time (or possibly around the turn of the century) I believe it's the Tompkinsville Lodge? Hmm. I don't even know where the Masonic Temple is, but it sounds interesting. I'll look into it. Thanks for sharing.

The ghost i saw, at new dorp beach, i wont be too site specific, but it was an adult who looked like they were all bandaged up like a hospital patient. they had a ghostly pair of aluminum crutches also, with the holes down the side. they appeared to be waltzing back and forth. at first i thought it was an old lady in a babooshka, trying to dance. but the torso was somewhat not solid, so. eventually i figured out it was not human. i was watching it through 4x glasses for like 15 minutes. i don't think it saw me at first. but then i got the feeling that it saw me, and was looking at me about 60 yards away. the face looked like a black void. then it appeared to fall down, get back up again, and fall down. it was strange. finally, i had to just give up as i couldn't sit there watching it all day. i came back at night and i may have saw something white going back and forth, but i was not sure. never saw it again. it was just strange.

Well, there was an old hospital there. I guess what you saw could be linked to that?

I don't think so. The hospital, St. John's Guild, was for chil;dren. But someone told me there were old Army barracks back there, so maybe it was a wounded vet? But then again, the aluminum crutches were definitely more of a modern thing.

Do you people realize that there was a plane crash over Miller Field
On December 16, 1960 a United Airlines Douglas DC-8 and a Trans World Airlines Lockheed Super Constellation collided just west of the field with the Constellation crashing into the northwest corner of the airport while the DC8 crashed into Park Slope Brooklyn. 135 were killed. The 1960 New York air disaster was the worst airline disaster to that point.
